You can send a private message or a friend request at any time on Facebook. Many users ask how to delete someone from their friends list. If you’re used to how things work on Facebook before Timeline came along, it can be a bit disconcerting. It seemed that hardly anyone was happy with changes made by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s proclamation of “a radical shift in the design and experience of Facebook.” So how can we make sure that our days of yore are not lost forever? Here is some good news for you: even though Timeline has been around since 2011, there is hope yet! We may just need to do some playing around and adjusting some settings.
Next, go to the Timeline and Tagging section of Account Settings. Make sure that you’re using the “I like it” option for Timeline. This will ensure that you are able to see posts from everyone on your Facebook news feed. If you only want to view updates from certain people, try hiding them all first before unhiding them individually. Hint: if you’re having problems with this, post a status update on yourself—it should appear in your own timeline, even if other people can’t see it!
If there are certain posts you want to see on your news feed, try adjusting the “Top Stories” options from 1 (High) to 5 (Most Recent). You can also try choosing some other options for this. If you have problems with this, you may need to visit each individual post and change its privacy settings back to whatever they used to be before Timeline was implemented.
If videos are not appearing in your Facebook news feed, go back to the Timeline and Tagging section of Account Settings and make sure that “Video Posts On” is set at Everyone. This should solve any issues that you might have with videos
not appearing in your news feed. If you do not see this option, it means that videos were automatically set to “Friends” by default when Timeline was implemented.
If you have photo albums from before Facebook’s implementation of Timeline, and they seem to be missing in action, try changing the Album Privacy options from Friends of Friends to Public on the privacy setting page.
If you really want the old Facebook back, there seems to be only one way: delete your profile! Go ahead and click that little blue “x” next to your profile picture in the top right corner of any page (next to where it says “Mark Zuckerberg”). Once you’ve deleted yourself, follow these steps again and create a brand-new account under.
If your account has been compromised or you forgot your password, go to the account login page and click ‘Forgot my password’.
If you decide to delete your account and withdraw from Facebook for whatever reason, the company will make it possible for you to regain access and retrieve all of your data.
You may be able to access your Facebook account with a different email or phone number listed on your account. If you do not know what alternate information you have: go to facebook.com/login/identify and follow the instructions.
