The news comes from the official Call of Duty Twitter account (via Polygon).

Unlike the free trial for The Division 2, however, which gives players carte blanche access to the game for eight hours up to Agent Level 8, the Modern Warfare free-to-play multiplayer weekend only gives players access to five of the mode’s more than three dozen maps.

PC Gamer notes that Call of Duty website CharlieIntel lists the available maps as Hovec Sawmill, Talsik Backlot, Aniyah Incursion, Hideout, and Shoot House. Modes “will support 6v6 and 10v10,” according to PC Gamer.

Though you may be excited to jump and try it for yourself, it’s worth noting that Modern Warfare’s multiplayer isn’t the same as it’s always been.

In our review, we said that “Modern Warfare’s multiplayer eschews much of the design philosophies that define earlier Call of Duty titles in favor of a slower, more measured experience,” specifically lamenting the difficulty in seeing enemies and the game’s “aggravating” spawn system.
